Wonderful relaxing spot with great open views.
Very pleased. Best part was how well the house accommodated my very large group. Large well-appointed kitchen, large dining area and open outside patio made for a great experience.

Natures "real" valley
Driving through the front gate gives the impression of privacy, however as we continued on through the ranch we were very impressed by the views and different species of animals. Being able to hike our own private trails was a nice feature and really set the mood for relaxation in nature. Waking up in the morning it was awesome to see different animals grazing by the house and were close enough to get great pictures! If you are wanting to float the Frio, we found it to be conveniently close (maybe a 10 minute ride). Overall this guest house was worth the experience and was the vacation we needed!

All the spectacular beauty of the Hill Country in one place
Even though it was just a 5-10 minute drive into Leakey, being surrounded by the ranch's tall hills made us feel like we were a thousand miles from the stresses of civilization. The exotic animals we encountered on our hikes, and the quiet solitude, added to the sense of remoteness. What we liked most about the guest house was the many gathering places, whether we were on the porch, congregating in the large kitchen, or just relaxing in the living room, we always had a place for family or even private conversations. Can't wait to go back!

The views from the house are beautiful! You can spend hours on the large porch taking it all in. It's also just minutes from the Frio river making floating the river very convenient. Always a great time staying in this house!

Texas Hill Country hide-away
This rental is perfect if you like to get away from the crowd but still be within minutes of the hot-spots in the area. It was great to tube the Frio and see all of the folks in the water...but it was really nice to retreat back to the secluded location of the "guest house". One of the more enjoyable aspects of our stay was "kicking back" on their large deck area. Had our early morning coffee out there (and a few evening beverages). And lots to see from that vantage point.... we saw a variety of different exotic animals in the valley area and the mountain side directly in front of deck. Wish I would have kept a listing of the critters and different birds we saw.... take your binoculars. They also had a hiking path/road to the top of one of the mountains. Once you make the hike (a moderate effort for seasoned folks like us)...the view is simply spectacular. We had a picnic lunch "on-top". If you are a fan of the Texas Hill Country....I would definitely recommend this as a stop. And the ranch folks are a nice bunch too.... very helpful.
